Dance Diplomacy: Hoofer/hill staffer Paul Emerson inspires a new step: the wonkenfuss--combining fancy footwork both in politics and on the dance floor. This Washington Post article describes Emerson's work directing CityDance Ensemble, a troupe that's traveled as a cultural ambassador in Israel, Palestine and many other countries.

Brother Can You Spare a Dime?: The USA pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo will showcase American culture with support from Wal-Mart, PepsiCo, Microsoft and many other multinational companies, but funding for the project is still lacking.

Too Much of a Good Thing?: Information overload could be undermining U.S. diplomacy efforts. Possible solutions include establishing a Ministry of Culture and encouraging private sector participation. Ultimately, however, "the best public diplomacy for the United States will have less to do with how we craft our own stories from inside the Beltway of Washington and more about how we assist others in shaping theirs."
