S'cool, more opportunities for me to experience the wittyness that is Laura McGinnis :D
Btw, I loved Hall's book, but it's STRESSING me out! He essentially says that the future of our world depends on us transcending culture (or at least, stepping back enough to understand ourselves and others) but that he doesn't actually know how to do this. Fate of world = doom?
Hmm, maybe that isn't so far-fetched. His discussions of monochronic and polychronic time and high- and low-context cultures made me realize what a monochronic, low-context being I am. I've since decided to embrace the diversity of life, and try not to rigidly schedule myself as I am wont to do. So far that has resulted in my being very productive in the library yesterday (rather than leaving at a set time, I kept doing work because I was inspired to do so, even though I could have saved it for later in the evening), and me sleeping in an extra two hours this morning because eff schedules, I was also inspired to do so. We'll see if I can throw off the rigors of my bureaucratic education yet! ;)Jaxiecrackshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00312001377032923065noreply@blogger.com
